Announcement of Elijah's Coming
by ElijahisMe init is with profound humility and reverence that i share a message of great significance.
in the year 2001, my son and i witnessed the birth of the kingdom of god, experiencing spiritual battles that affirm our divine calling.
as prophesied in the scriptures, my son is the elijah to come, the forerunner to jesus' second coming.. living in the wilderness by his own choosing, my son embodies the spirit and mission of elijah, preparing the way for the lord.

It's a different world than pre-internet.I agree in the sense that stupid people are more obvious because they now have access to social media.

Jehovah provides Javier a part-time job
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | march 2025. keep walking by faith.
7 note how javier, a brother in south america, saw the need to walk by faith.
he says: “i had applied for a prestigious job that would double my salary and provide considerable personal satisfaction.” however, javier had the deep desire to pioneer.

Of all the hard core pioneer's I remember from the 80's, I don't think any are still pioneering.
As we were getting close to the end of the century, it seemed expectations were rampant about the end. So many self-righteous JW's giving their opinions to the younger ones about how we should live our lives and sadly, myself included, many of us took educational advice that affects us decades later.
Time bit many of those pioneer's right in the arse and they too have had to play catch up , dropping pioneering, getting full time jobs to afford kids and a roof over their heads. Somehow, many of them still manage to remain self-righteous, when they should be ashamed of themselves.

What will happen to the Watchtower Religion now that Trump has Withdrawn from certain aspects of the United Nations.
by liam inso trump has signed an executive order to withdraw from the united nations human rights council, a refugee organization, some others parts as well and calls for a review of american involvement in funding of the united nations.
he said the united nations has not been living to its potential and they need to get their act together or just dissolve the organization completely.
he said america will continue to be a part of the un but it's tiring that the united states is the country that funds most of the monies and that can't continue.

Vidiot - I like your idea of a mural.. I think the repressed WT artists enjoy this subject a little too much.
Heres another one you could consider :) :

Pinata's vs Birthday's - classic JW hypocrisy
by joey jojo ini vaguely knew that the pinata had some kind of pagan origin and i assumed that having a pinata at a jw party was frowned on by the b0rg.
however, despite its blatant pagan origins, apparently i was wrong.. the 22 september, 2003 awake states that the aztecs would smash a clay pot full of 'treasures' in honour of the god huitzilopochtli's birthday.
spanish missionaries simply switched the pot for the pinata during the christian conversion of the aztecs.

I commented on this when it first came out. Add to that the change in the understanding of "luau" not being pagan.I knew this must have been covered at some point :).
I sincerely do not understand the double-speak of the org in regards to these issues. They have a real 'thing' with birthdays.
By the way Blondie, I always enjoyed your autopsy of the WT articles.

I vaguely knew that the Pinata had some kind of pagan origin and I assumed that having a Pinata at a JW party was frowned on by the b0rg. However, despite its blatant pagan origins, apparently I was wrong.
The 22 September, 2003 Awake states that the Aztecs would smash a clay pot full of 'treasures' in honour of the god Huitzilopochtli's birthday. Spanish missionaries simply switched the pot for the Pinata during the Christian conversion of the Aztecs. The same article mentions that the Pinata is also tied closely to Christmas celebrations.
After setting the background, the same article of the Awake says the following: 'While remaining sensitive to the views of others, when considering to use a Pinata at a gathering, the main concern is not what the practice meant hundreds of years ago, but how it is viewed today'. The article in no way condemns the use of a Pinata. Incidently, Huitzilopochtli was the primary god of war.
When discussing birthdays, jw.org's claims the exact opposite. Their main concern revolves completely around what the practice allegedly meant hundreds, or even thousands of years ago. They claim birthdays are tied to magic and folklore and that the bible only mentions birthdays twice, and, both times, bad things happened. Also, no birthday of a faithful servant of God is recorded, conveniently forgetting about Job celebrating his childrens birthdays.
There are very few people - in the western world at least, that still associate birthdays with magic, folklore, or what happened to someone thousands of years ago during a birthday. Birthdays are a naturally occuring event - we cant avoid them. I would argue that using a Pinata, which is tied to the birthday of an Aztec god of war - and Christmas in more modern times, should be far more offensive to JW's than birthdays.

Characteristics of a Cult - Heaven's Gate
by dropoffyourkeylee inchacteristics of a cult - by my count, wt ticks 9 of the 12 boxes.
last night i watched a really interesting video (link below) put out by an ex-mormon site discussing the heaven's gate cult.
the person interviewed had a unique perspective in that he had firsthand contact with that group, specifically the house they lived in and the aftermath.

Its hilarious that JWs believe they are serious bible students. I actually believed it myself when I was active.
Number 11 on the list 'lack of critical thinking' says it all. JWs practice conditional learning, not cognitive learning. They are told what to think and feel. They are taught to associate feelings with words and phrases. As we all know, they never carry out critical analysis of any teaching.
They are no different to the well known experiment when a guy conditioned his dog to start salivating when he heard the sound of a bell.
And yet, most of them believe themselves to be bible scholars.
